My new job has a cafeteria, which means 2 things -
1.) I have more options than just bringing a frozen lunch or salad.
2.) These extra options come with more calories than I've been used to spending in most cases.
The GREAT news about this strange situation is that ALL meal options also have the calories listed on the menu AND state whether or not it's a healthy(er) choice. This worked in my favor yesterday when I wanted a Ranch-style cheeseburger with fries (appx 1000+ calories), but was persuaded by the numbers to opt for a Turkey Club Wrap instead (appx 500 - 600 calories). Sure, still more calories than my previous lunch options (350 - 450), but I'm going to make it work.
Still haven't exercised. Sometimes it seems it takes awhile for me to get motivated enough to create a schedule. This waking at 5:30 AM (used to be 6:45 AM) has started to wear on me. I've been going to bed earlier and have been getting an average of 8 - 8.5 hours of sleep every night, but I still feel exhausted. It's going to take a few weeks to get used to the new schedule and the time change this coming Sunday is not going to help things.
The GREAT news: Spring is in the air - I can feel it. Soon I'll be spending a portion of my lunch hour walking the grounds. Who knows - I might even make it down to the Fitness Center and sign up.
